Notice of Filing of Tentative 2020 Assessment Roll

(Pursuant to Section 506 of the Real Property Tax Law)

Notice is hereby given that the Assessor has completed the

TENTATIVE Assessment Roll for the Town of Hamlin New York in the County of Monroe for the year 2020. The Roll will be filed on or before May 1, 2020, and may be seen and examined by any person until the fourth Tuesday of May. @ https://www.hamlinny.org/departments/assessor-s-office.html

The Board of Assessment Review will meet to hear complaints on:

May 28th, 2020, 4:00 to 8:00 pm by Virtual Methodology.

The Assessor will be in attendance with the roll on:

Any day, by appointment using Virtual Methodology. 

In accordance with Section 526 of the Real Property Tax Law, a publication containing procedures for contesting an assessment is available at the Assessor's Office or online @ tax.ny.gov/pdf/current_forms/orpts/rp524ins.pdf

The Assessor's Calendar

The Assessor's calendar goes from July to July.

The Assessment and Exemptions as of July 1st determine two property bills.

The first bill is the school bill which is normally printed in August and due October 1st. The Exemptions which might apply on this bill are:

1. Ag Exemption
2. Low income, disbility or senior
3. Enhance or Basic STAR

The next tax bill that is generated is the Town and County combined.

It is normally printed in December and due February 10th without interest. The Exemptions which might apply on this bill are:

1. Ag Exemption
2. Veteran Exemption
3. Low income, disbility or senior
4. Clergy

Note: The Income for Seniors over 65 of age is established by the State and normally goes up each year as of 2017 the Adjusted Gross less any IRA distributions is $86,000.00. Please check each year with the Assessor's Office to see if the amount has changed.
